      • Ectopic bone formation by microporous calcium phosphate ceramic particles in sheep muscles - D. Le Nihouannen et Al

FUNDAMENTAL - Osteoinductive - Calcium phosphate ceramics are widely used in bone reconstructive surgery because of their osteconductive properties. However, these materials generally lack osteoinductive properties required to support bone healing in large defects. In this article, we study the osteoinductive potential of calcium phosphate ceramic particles implanted for 6 months into the dorsal muscles of eight adult female sheep.

      • Effect of sintering process of HA/TCP bioceramics microstructure, dissolution, cell proliferation and bone ingrowth - G. Daculs

DENTAL - The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sintering conditions on microporosity of and cell proliferation and bone ingrowth on biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) bioceramics. Discs were prepared from a calcium-deficient apatite preparation that upon sintering at 1050oC and above, results in a BCP with 60% hydroxyapatite (HA)/ 40% beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) ratio.

FUNDAMENTAL - Micro Macroporosity - The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sintering conditions on microporosity of and cell proliferation and bone ingrowth on biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) bioceramics.

      • Efficacy and performance of bone substitute for bone reconstruction in place of allograft and autograft - G. Daculsi - ITBM - R

FUNDAMENTAL - Concept of BCP - Although bone tissue possesses the capacity for regenerative growth, the bone repair process is impaired in many clinical and pathological situations.

      • Efficacy and performance of bone substitute for bone reconstruction in place of allograft and autograft - G. Daculsi et Al.

FUNDAMENTAL - Concept of BCP - Although bone tissue possesses the capacity for regenrative growth, the bone repair process is impaired in many clinical and pathological situations. For example massive bone loss caused by trauma and tumor resection as well as deformities require reconstructive surgery.
