Surface treatment-Ultra-clean Grit Blasting

Indications:

The surface of metallic implants is treated with abrasive material in order to obtain a texture that guarantees contact between the bone and the implant. This treatment is also required before the application of coating.

The treatment increases surface roughness, purifies the area of contact by improving bioreactivity. The increase in the stabilisation allows the implant to efficiently handle the mechanical constraints that are exerted.

The benefits of apatitic grit blasting

* Metallic and mineral residues such as alumina and silica are suspected of being responsible for breaking the seal of osteoarticular prostheses (hip and knee prostheses for example).  By using calcium phosphate particles in the treatment of surfaces, Biomatlante eliminates this type of risk.

Following the enlargement of its premises, Biomatlante has set up an installation specifically dedicated to apatitic grit blasting for dental implants. This new service has been offered since 2005.
